The Epilepsy Phenome/Genome Project (EPGP) is ooking for Volunteers to determine if epilepsy is genetic. They are looking for families who have sibling pairs with epilepsy or parent/child pairs with epilepsy.Â
EPGP will help shape the future of clinical care of people with epilepsy. For the project to be successful, it needs to be a huge collaboration of all people with epilepsy. Please consider being a part of this history-making research project!
To be part of the EPGP your epilepsy cannot be due to a very obvious cause, such a significant head injury, brain infection, or stroke, then you may be eligible to participate. EPGP is for men, women, and children between the ages of 4 weeks and 60 years old who have epilepsy with a brother, sister, parent, or child who has epilepsy. EPGP also seeks patients with infantile spasms, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, and malformations of cortical development who have both parents willing to volunteer.
Before you decide whether to participate in any clinical research study, you should educate yourself to become familiar with how clinical trials work, what may or may not be expected of you and what the potential risks and benefits of participating may be.  For more information you can visit the web site at http://www.epgp.org/Pages/Default.aspx or email info@epgp.or g or call 1-888-279-EPGP.
