This story sounds like the synchronization of the biophotons sent by one individual, the source, to another. Women's bodies tend to synchronize with eachother during menstral cycles... Maybe it goes deeper than, .

Merle Evanchyk opened closed doors where others feared to even knock.
The last fifty years have brought great improvement, but there is more to be done.
Merle was a God send to us so long ago when our daughter was first diagnosed. She gave us hope, and a place to find answers to the myriad problems facing parents and patients. She became a source for professionals, an acknowledged "expert" with no degrees on the wall. She is an inspiration to anyone aspiring to make a difference for good in the world. She is our friend and has been a blessing in our lives.

I am so happy that Ms. Evanchyk has been such a strong supporter and pioneer in helping to educate people, schools, employers about Epilepsy. My 2 year old daughter has epilepsy and my fear every day is that she will have to face the discrimination that so many people do with a disorder. It isn't something she wanted. She has to live with it, why can't people be more understanding. I see it everyday as I work in the public schools.

As a person with epilepsy, and a composer, I have created and recorded 20 pieces of music/songs all based around the experience of epilepsy, both from the patient and carer's point of view (Ictal Variations Project, 2008-10). Several of these pieces were inspired by Visual Art created by people with epilepsy. Many of these visual pieces have been compiled in the book "Visions, Artists Living with Epilepsy", by Dr Steven C. Schachter (2003, Academic Press).

Another piece which on this occasion demonstrates the sense of elongation of time for those witnessing a seizure, is called When The Spirit Catches You, a three part contemporary piece written by Dr Cynthia Folio (Dr of Composition at Temple University) and recorded by Relache. This was inspired by Dr Folio's own experience of witnessing her daughter have several seizures on a regular basis. In terms of Musicogenic Epilepsy, a paper was written on this subject in 2003 by Dr Peter W. Kaplan, of Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore.

There have been examples whereby music has been used as a model to demonstrate the process and features of seizure, as in the case of Dr Kip Haaheim (Dr of Composition at Kansas State University) who collaborated with Dr Ivan Osorio. In this case he used a piece of Mozart and manipulated the score to such an extent that the music deteriorated from its original form into a mess. By then removing these manipulations the piece then started to become recognisable once more, thus demonstrating the 3 stages of seizure: Aura; Ictal; Post Ictal.
