EpilepsyU was recently notified by Everyday Health about their new episode airing this Saturday, October 22 on local ABC stations. This episode will feature a young man with epilepsy meeting his new best friend: a service dog from Canine Assistants.
We thought the EpilepsyU community would like to know about this show, it is all about helping others and “paying it forward”. To watch please check your local listings and tune it to watch the full show on your local ABC station on Saturday!

A little more about Canine Assistance for Persons with Epilepsy:
Special dogs with special training
Seizure response dogs can:
- Retrieve a phone prior to a seizure
- Summon help in a controlled environment
- Stay with their person during a seizure
- Some are reported to warn of impending seizures
These dogs not only provide assistance, they can instill confidence by enabling their recipient to do activities they may be reluctant to do because they have epilepsy. They also provide companionship and contribute to the overall emotional well-being of the person they are placed with.
