Did you know that seatbelt violations help to pay for Epilepsy Services in Florida? In1989 CSHB 229, known as the Seat Belt Surcharge Act, authored by Jim Hinson, establishes the Epilepsy Services Trust Fund. 1st Annual EACF “Purple Day” Picnic

Our first ever Purple Picnic was a huge success! We had a fantastic turnout, perfect weather and tons of fun! We celebrated our founder, Merle Evanchyk’s, 90th birthday, the EACF’s 50 year history and International Purple Day. Merle Evanchyk was even presented a special proclamation from the City of Orlando officially making March 24, “Merle Evanchyk Day”! Nova Scotian Girl Epilepsy Purple Day Closer to Becoming Official In Canada

A Nova Scotian girl started a Purple Day campaign to promote epilepsy awareness, and now it’s one step closer to becoming official in the House of Commons. “I started Purple Day because I thought I was the only one with epilepsy and I wanted other people to know that they’re not alone and to see if there’s others out there,” Cassidy Megan told CBC News.
