Epilepsy Association, Fla. Legislators & Other Health Care Groups to Announce Legislation to Protect Floridians from Dangerous Insurance Coverage Changes
Press Event Announcing New Bill to Take Place Wednesday, January 20 at 12:30 in Florida Capitol Building
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – January 14, 2015 – The Epilepsy Association of Central Florida and other members of the Florida Patient Stability Coalition invite members of the media to attend a special press event Wednesday, January 20, at the Florida Capitol Building. During the event, state legislators and health care advocates will unveil new legislation to protect the health of Floridians living with chronic, complex or rare medical conditions from mid-year health insurance changes that could put them at risk.
The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Florida State Capitol, Room 333 (House of Representative Press Room) and will feature the following speakers:
- Rep. Debbie Mayfield (R-Vero Beach)
- Sen. Alan Hays (R- Umatilla)
- Charles Carmen – Executive Director, Epilepsy Association of Central Florida
- Dr. Jason Goldman – Governor-Elect, American College of Physicians, Florida Chapter
